Wellington Pier, a superb 700ft-long structure, was a huge success when it opened in 1853. And, together with the adjoining Winter Gardens, was an incredibly popular attraction in the first half of the 20th Century. Sadly, it fell into decline until it was completely gutted, rebuilt and re-opened by owners, Family Amusements. Using the cream of local craftsmen, they called on Anglia Lead to construct these eye-catching decorative twin copper domes that dominate the rebuilt pier.
