Gazeley Church

With the church being used almost daily, we had to take the constant changes in temperature and humidity into account when repairing and renewing the roof. The top section of the roof is vented via triangular vents burnt to the top sheets.

Project Overview

Client: F.A. Valiants & Son

Location: Gazeley, Suffolk.

Architect: Whitworth Co-Partnership

Materials: Code 8 Sand cast lead gutters and roof sheets. Code 5 Milled Lead Flashings

During the replacement of an aisle roof, we installed special ventilation paths to keep the air circulated, thus maximising the lifespan of the new lead roof. The roof is split into two bays deep, with a vented drip at gutter level and an intermediate drip.
